Here’s why they chose Smile Train

Marian Rivera

Filipino Actress and TV sensation Marian Rivera was first introduced to Smile Train when she visited San Fernandino Hospital to celebrate Smile Train’s 30,000th cleft surgery in the Philippines. Marian was so moved by the experience that she has since become a Smile Train Goodwill Ambassador.  She has recently taken to social media with the #YanAngSmile campaign to help spread awareness around the world of the free, safe, and quality cleft lip and palate surgeries and related treatment that Smile Train provides with the help of local in-country partners.

Pia Wurtzbach

Pia Wurtzbach is an actress, TV host, model, and beauty queen.  Pia was first introduced to Smile Train after she was crowned Miss Universe 2015 after becoming Miss Universe Philippines 2015 at the Binibining Pilipinas 2015 pageant. Pia lends her voice and a helping hand to raise awareness for children born with clefts in the developing world, including her home country, the Philippines.

Megan Young

Megan Young is a TV personality, model and beauty queen.  The 2013 Miss World titleholder was first introduced to Smile Train during a Yoga-for-Smiles project at a studio where she practices yoga.  She became interested to learn more about Smile Train’s work and asked if she could visit the hospitals and meet medical professionals and patients receiving treatment.  She was surprised to see the range of services supported by Smile Train and made a commitment to be an advocate of the organization. 

Barbie Forteza

Barbie Forteza is an actress, commercial model, and host.  Barbie was pleasantly surprised to find a charity that works with children just down the road from where she lives and works.  She spends time interacting with the children and getting to know their circumstances.
